In perspective

PEOPLE care about the deficit and debt only during bad times. As the economy starts to improve, they will care less and less. When the economy makes a full recovery, the federal deficit and debt will be pushed into the far recesses of the minds of voters.

Ridiculous spending

IS Cape Girardeau totally nuts? $40,000 to study the signage to tourist attractions? This has got to be the worst. It's ridiculous.

Franklin memories

COULD somebody please tell me what's going on in Cape Girardeau? All my family went through Franklin Elementary School. It's a beautiful building. I cannot understand why anyone would want to destroy it. Why can't the school district renovate it, keep it as a museum or something? I think it would be terrible if the building is destroyed. It's a historic place with so many memories.

Time for firing

JANET Napolitano is as big of a joke as tax cheat Timothy Geithner. Both of these public employees are complete and utter failures at their jobs. Since they work for us and we pay their salaries, we need to demand their firings.

Hidden agenda

ISN'T it great that David Limbaugh is psychic and can inform the public as to the motive behind everything the president does? I think it is high time Mr. Limbaugh gives widespread credibility to my little noticed thesis by publicly backing my view that the president is intensely promoting his Marxist-Leninist agenda when seemingly engaged in a harmless game of pickup basketball. For example, a presidential three-pointer is really a metaphor for peace, land and bread, three of the main goals of philosophical Marxism.

Animal neglect

Why do people not take care of their animals? Not feeding or watering and not providing shelter are forms of neglect. It's the same as abusing an animal. Animals have no voice, so I am speaking for them.
