To the editor: It looks like the powers that be in Washington want to take more income away from senior citizens who need it the most by cutting our Social Security benefits. If they would cut out the benefits to those who already have enough to live on, there would be plenty for the rest of us. ...

To the editor:

It looks like the powers that be in Washington want to take more income away from senior citizens who need it the most by cutting our Social Security benefits. If they would cut out the benefits to those who already have enough to live on, there would be plenty for the rest of us. How many do you know who do not need the Social Security income but did not turn it down when it was offered to them? This program was set up to help the needy, not supplement the wealthy. There should be a scale to determine who needs it and who doesn't. Let's write to our representatives and demand this.
