To the editor:

The Republican chickens are finally coming home to roost. During Bill Clinton's eight years in office, Republicans conducted endless investigations and constantly attacked the president, calling him a liar, a rapist and God knows what else. When he lobbed missiles into Afghanistan in 1998 in an attempt to retaliate against Osama bin Laden for an embassy bombing in Africa, Republicans said he was wagging the dog, trying to take Americans' attention away from the Monica Lewinsky investigation. They they impeached him for lying about sex, a trivial offense that comes to light every day in divorce courts across the nation.

Now that Americans are beginning to realize that their emperor is wearing no clothes, Democrats are questioning President Bush's integrity concerning Iraq's weapons of mass destruction and his dubious service in the National Guard.

The shoe is on the other foot now, and Republicans are sniveling and crying foul and labeling anyone who complains about their hero a traitor. The same individuals who wrote hate letters to this newspaper about Clinton are now whining about Democrats being unfair to the president.
