Reconnecting with cadets

In 1942 I was an aviation cadet at Santa Ana Army Air Basein Calif., but I separated from my unit. I recently ran across an old picture, turned it over and found written the names of Almon Suedecum, Cape Girardeau, Joe Koch, Benton, and Wilburn Mathis, Hayti, Mo. There was another cadet named Dale Walker, who took the picture, but I didn't get his hometown. I was from Poplar Bluff. I would like to get information about any of them.

I think I saw Joe Koch after the war and he said a lot of pilots were killed flying between Italy and the Sahara Desert when head winds caused them to have to ditch in the Mediterranean. My phone number is 225-272-3960 and email is Tmedhogg@cox.net.
