The children's service fund model has worked in other counties in our state. The accountability of annual audits and ensuring quality programs receive funding have resulted in positive outcomes. The statute requires that this fund be run effectively and efficiently to protect funds meant for improving children's lives. Do we not trust the citizens in our own community to identify and make decisions about what our kids need? Are we going to rely on the state and federal government to dictate what programs are funded and at the capacity that they see fit?
