Cape Girardeau history is everywhere. Now there's a fun way to capture the city's history -- from the 1800s through the 1950s -- in one photo book.

"Cape Girardeau Faces & Places" will be a collection of photographs and information from private collections. The book is scheduled to be released in the fall.

The Southeast Missourian is producing the book, and project director Carol Robert is collecting photos for it. She wants pictures of the people and locations that have made Cape Girardeau special throughout its history.

Photo contributors, who will be credited in the book, can bring their pictures by the Southeast Missourian at 301 Broadway as soon as possible and ask for Robert from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday or by appointment on other days and at other times.

Robert's phone number is 335-6611, extension 106.

Here's an opportunity to participate in a very special history project.
