To the editor:
As a pedestrian in Cape Girardeau, you must be on the lookout at all times. Drivers in Cape Girardeau very seldom give the right-of-way to pedestrians. It seems like the motorists are always in a hurry.
As a driver, you should know that even when you are facing a green light, you must yield the right-of-way to all pedestrians in an intersection. Never assume you have the right-of-way. Do not assume pedestrians see you and will stop for you. Do not pass a vehicle that has stopped or slowed down for a pedestrian.
