The photograph on the front page of the Southeast Missourian last week told the story. And what a wonderful story it is.
Cary and Leler Clark celebrated their 70th anniversary while both were patients at Southeast Missouri Hospital. They were released later in the day.
The Charleston, Mo., natives haven't always had an easy life as they had 10 children (two are deceased) and struggled to make ends meet while living in Arkansas and Illinois before moving back to Charleston a couple of years ago.
But look at those smiles. And how they hug each other.
And listen to Leler: "We took care of each other, that's the greatest thing. Give a little, take a little."
That sounds like great advice for any married couple -- or anyone planning to get married.
