LETTERS: YELL GRANT HELPS READERS

To the editor:

On behalf of the students of St. Paul Lutheran School, I would like to thank the Southeast Missourian and the Area Wide United Way for the recent grant that our school received as a direct result of the YELL program. That grant will used to expand upon the computerized reading program which our school implemented several years ago.

In addition, I would like to express thanks for the opportunity that is provided to our students to receive copies of the Southeast Missourian for use in the classroom. As a result of YELL, I feel that our students are definitely gaining an interest in news and current events.
