Dear Editor,

I finally read an article in Parade Magazine which is worth reading, "Should Elderly People be Allowed to Drive" by Hugh Downs. Hugh really checks into it and he documents every word he says. I have quit reading Missourian editorials since the subject was, Young People have the most accidents but old people cause most of them. Forgive me if I don't have it word for word because it has been several years since I have read it. I seldom read Speak Out because the articles are not signed but one with the same theme was placed right on top.

Hugh mentions good nutrition and keeping fit. Also keeping vision checked. A lot of us older drivers work very hard on these things.

Hugh's idea seems to be more frequent and better testing for all age groups, especially older groups. That sounds good to me.
