To the editor:
In response to the Speak Out caller who said life does not begin at conception. I would like to use an analogy to show that the fertilized egg is a person.
When the sperm interacts with the egg, new growth begins like a baby's growth when her mother feeds her. To artificially attempt to take growth away from the fertilized egg by not letting it implant on the uterus wall is a equal to murder. When the fertilized egg is denied attachment to the uterus wall through artificial means, the egg is being denied of the nutrients it needs to grow. To be consistent, we should be allowed to take away food our children need, if we wish, and let them starve to death. We should not be charged with murder, because we would be consistent.
