To the editor:
I would very much like to take issue with the recent editorial in support of prayer in public schools.
I attended a Catholic school for nine years where prayer recitation was practiced several times every school day. This was totally different from prayer in public schools, which I am totally against, as there are all kinds of different religious beliefs and non-beliefs in the public school system.
For anyone who wishes to pray, they can do so whenever they wish -- silently.
Isn't this what real democracy is all about?
