Recently a bill was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives to require the United States to withdraw from the United Nations to protect what is left of American sovereignty. According to an area newspaper, only one representative from Missouri voted favorably for America and its citizens. This one favorable vote was cast by U.S. Rep. Danny Hulshof. I wasn't a bit surprised by William Clay and Dick Gephardt's voting against us, along with some of the socialist sympathizers who have always voted against the people in the past. But I was certainly surprise by Jim Talent and Jo Ann Emerson's turning against us. I had misjudged them completely.

When the United Nations was formed, its purpose was supposedly to prevent wars by aligning the majority membership against any country that would attempt aggression. But, like our own government, it has grown like a cancer. It's obvious to anyone with the brains of a toad that its purpose now is to completely put the United States under its control.

Our representatives in Congress cannot possibly be this blind. So it makes me wonder what the incentive is for them to turn their backs on America and its citizens. It is alarming when one sees that there is such a lack of patriotism by our elected officials. It certainly doesn't instill any optimism for the future of our country.
