To the editor:
Oh, shed no tears for Kelly Flinn
Who say young Marc and sought to sin:
Dakota nights are long and cold.
He'd be a comfort she could hold
To cheer her heart and warm her bed.
"Forget the wife," sees what was said.
"You're flirting with a lost career,
And such behavior flies not here!"
Admonished thus by Minot brass,
Rash Kelly thought the storm would pass
And moved her lover to her house.
Behind them wept and injured spouse.
Oh, Captain Flinn, you surely knew
That lying bothers men in blue.
Ignoring orders is no way
To gain promotion in this day!
So enter now the shyster Spinner
Seeking profit from this sinner.
Let's say the crime is naught but love:
The craven media this will shove.
To blur the facts is e'er their way,
And Oprah's got an open day.
Now all will get another look
At Kelly's crime in film or book.
So shed no tears for Kelly Flinn.
That bed she made is what she's in.
