To the editor:
There has been much controversy over the last few months about Hancock II, or Amendment 7. I can't see why there is so much controversy, but then I realized that I live in Cape Girardeau. I recalled over the last two years the people of Cape Girardeau voted down three bond issues that were supposed to help students get a better education and provide a better environment for learning. Hancock II might cut our taxes, but nothing like the greedy people of Missouri think it will. Even if they cut our taxes greatly, what is more important: having more money than the Jones's next door or having our youth becoming better educated? So on Nov. 8 vote no for the well-being of your kids, your next-door neighbor's kids and the well-being of our next generation.
MARK C. FINAL
