LETTERS: GOP SPREADING TRASH ABOUT THE PRESIDENT

To the editor:

This is in reference to the latest trash promoted by the new garbage-mouthed Republicans. President Clinton is an intelligent, caring and honorable man being crucified by lies and power-hungry Republican politicians never before seen in history.

The Republican Party condemned him for seeking the truth about communism. Anyone who lived during the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s will, if truthful, admit that everyone was morbidly curious about communism, its beliefs and lifestyles. Many Communist Party members lived next door to all Americans in all cities across the United States. They actively tried inducing all people into their way of living. Small children became so inquisitive that short courses were taught in school. The mystery was so great that diehard Americans began exploring. Party members entered all phases of America's lifestyle. Business leaders, teachers, doctors and everyday workers became party members.

President Clinton's deferment from the war in Vietnam was not the exception but the rule. Millions were protesting a war that went beyond its years with too many needless deaths. Millions marched against the war and even risked jail. Many went to jail. Millions of servicemen defected to Canada. Stripped of their U.S. rights, they were refused entry into their own country. Innocent young men and women were killed on college campuses during protests and marches.

Let us not forget Bob Dole's numerous deferments until he could no longer be deferred. Then he spent a total of a few months at the end of the war. Sorry about his injuries, but he has collected his dues.

It seems everyone is forgetting all the hostages President Clinton brought home safely and without war, something not achieved during the 12 years of Republican presidency. Most Americans will tell us that peace is preferred, something we cannot achieve with a trigger-happy military man. The military man belongs in the military. The military many on the whole is honorable, but a vast number have displayed misjudgment and violence. Being in the service doesn't qualify anyone for a world leader. When Done and his kindergarten group protested peace in Bosnia through diplomatic means, the first statement out of Dole's mouth was, "I would bomb them." Never mind innocent lives.

Never before has so much total garbage and absolute lies been told. The garbage-mouths need to crawl back in the sewer and let President Clinton finish his magnificent job.
