To the editor:
The board of directors of the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri would like to formally congratulate and thank graphic designer Eric Woods for his recent sweep of the Addy awards in the area of advertising in the arts. On Feb. 25, Mr. Woods was the recipient of four prizes at the prestigious Addy awards banquet. The winningest designer of the evening, Eric took home one citation of excellence award for his work with the Southeast Missourian. The Arts Council received two Addy awards for designs created by Mr. Woods, including the summer concert series covers and the winter newsletter. Most importantly, an Addy of distinction was also awarded for development and design of the Arts Council's recent grand opening materials, including our well-received fall newsletter featuring Otto Dingeldein, founder of the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri.
Over the past year, Mr. Woods' dedication and ingenuity have been a great source of pride for both the Arts Council and the community it serves. Eric has introduced a fresh presentation of the organization to the public through such smart designs as the new Arts Council logo and the redeveloped quarterly newsletters. Working purely as a volunteer, Eric has given our not-for-profit organization the opportunity to fine-tune and further develop our ever-changing public image via printed materials.
The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri serves to ever improve the quality of life in the Cape Girardeau region. The talent and dedication of individuals such as Mr. Woods allows the Arts Council to shine in the midst of Cape Girardeau's flourishing cultural renaissance.
