To the editor: I usually read the editorials of the Southeast Missourian. I agree with what you said about Clinton being in Russia on V-E Day and changing V-J Day to the "End of the Pacific War." Maybe Clinton needed to see so many dead Marines stacked up that they had to take a bulldozer and plow a trench about four feet deep and then lay the dead Marines wrapped in a blanket side by side to be covered up for the time being. ...

I usually read the editorials of the Southeast Missourian. I agree with what you said about Clinton being in Russia on V-E Day and changing V-J Day to the "End of the Pacific War."

Maybe Clinton needed to see so many dead Marines stacked up that they had to take a bulldozer and plow a trench about four feet deep and then lay the dead Marines wrapped in a blanket side by side to be covered up for the time being. This happened on Iwo Jima. I still see this every time I see a picture of a military cemetery.

I spent my 19th birthday on top of Mt. Suribashi attending Easter sunrise services. After the service I looked down into the volcano crater, and I was about five feet from the flag. I didn't know then how famous it would be, or I would have touched it.
