To the editor: Invade Haiti? Why? It has nothing to offer us. I see no point except maybe something political. If we go in and take the dictator out, then we have to stay there to make sure democracy stays. An expense the U.S. doesn't need. Why is our government continuing to find ways to spend money?...

Democracy and freedom are only meaningful when you earn them. You don't leave your homeland and go some where else. You must want freedom. It must be won by the blood of patriots of the homeland. This builds a proud and independent people. We need to supply guns and advice and let the people take back their country. Then and only then will democracy and freedom ring. I think history has proven that.

It's time for this country to stop building the world and get on with our own problems. Cuba is in the same position. Give them back their guns and let them become a proud and free country won by the blood of their patriots.

The only way a dictator can take over a country is to take the guns away from the people so the people can't resist it's demands. Our government is doing this to us by banning assault weapons. It's just the beginning. Take heed, America, we could be in the same boat we were in in 1629.
