For many years, people did not have the option of getting a flu shot, and very few people worried about it. Also there have been reports that this is going to be the lightest flu year since 1984. So I hope that helps people feel safer.

However, that does not mean I am not enraged about the fact that prisoners take priority over our babies, our sick and our elderly. Although I do not feel they should be excluded from having the option of getting a flu shot, I feel prisoners should have to wait like the rest of the world. They should not take priority over other individuals. Although they may spread disease and illness, younger prisoners are less likely to have adverse affects to the flu than the elderly, sick or babies. The elderly or sick prisoners should take priority along with the elderly and sick everywhere else.
