Lions, tigers and bears ...
It might not be the "Wizard of Oz," but there will be plenty of good stories to hear Wednesday night when animal and nature enthusiast Jeff Corwin speaks at the Show Me Center.
Noted for television shows "The Jeff Corwin Experience" and "Corwin's Quest" on the Animal Planet, Corwin will give a presentation beginning at 7:30 p.m. titled "Tales From the Field." The speech is part of the Southeast Missouri State University Speaker's Series.
This is the sixth speaker for this year's series, which included: Gen. Colin Powell, Tony La Russa, The Second City, John Legend and Michelle Kwan. As far as lineups go, the 2012-2013 series was impressive and diverse. These recognized names drew many students, faculty and members of the community.
Free tickets are available for Corwin's presentation to Southeast students, faculty and staff, with a valid Redhawks ID, in rooms 202 and 204 of the University Center and the Show Me Center box office. Others wishing to attend may purchase a ticket for $10 at the Show Me Center box office, online at showmecenter.biz or by calling 651-5000.
Congratulations to the university on another successful Speaker's Series. We look forward to next year's lineup.
