It's time to back Redhawk teams

To the editor:

What if ... . Should have ... . Could have ... . Would have ... . None of these will help. The decision is made. It's too bad it took so much time to change from the Indian tradition.

The decision was preordained. I appreciated Don Dickerson's efforts and explanations on what has and what has not transpired in the last 20 years.

When bureaucrats are at work, they have all the time in the world to wait out elected and appointed officials. With the NCAA's long-range plans, we would have been trying to push water uphill with our fingers. Now it's water under the bridge. There's no sense in beating a dead horse to death.

All Southeast Missouri State University fans really want now is to get with it, get some team spirit and win some ballgames. This would give students a reason to back and cheer for the Redhawks.

Many boosters have stuck with the teams through some rough times. Now, let's go -- and best of luck -- Redhawks.
