A Gang Resistance Education and Training program, also known as GREAT, has started at L.J. Schultz School, Cape Girardeau's seventh grade center. Patrolman Charlie Herbst of the Cape Girardeau Police Department will meet with students once a week.

This program should educate children on the ills of gangs while instilling a positive image of law enforcement. It seems a great idea.
