I want to thank reporter Linda Redeffer for being in court Wednesday when Christopher Jones was sentenced for the second-degree murder of John Mayabb. I only have one question. In the article Thursday, why wasn't it mentioned that I was never contacted when the plea bargain was accepted? The prosecution accepted it behind the victim's family's back and then did not even call and let us know. I had to find it out over the Internet when Scott County Prosecuting Attorney Paul Boyd had three days to call and let me know. Out of three days a person cannot take five minutes and explain to a family why this decision was made? It would have taken only a simple phone call.
