We were delighted to see Laura Simon's lovely photographs of our home and business, Bellevue Bed and Breakfast. It was also a joy to meet Savanna Maue, a young, up-and-coming journalist who already has an Associated Press article under her belt.
We were truly honored to receive recognition by the Keep Cape Beautiful Beautification Committee and appreciate the work that they and the parks and recreation department tirelessly do for our city. We would like to publicly thank Becky Mocherman for nominating us.
We feel privileged to own a property with such a rich history and unique architecture. It is a great pleasure to be able to share it with our guests who come from not only all over the country but all over the world. Being in the heart of historic downtown Cape Girardeau within walking distance of great shops and fabulous restaurants is icing on the cake.
We would like to clarify that we do not now nor have we ever thought of Tom and Terry Neumeyer as competitors. We think of them as colleagues, neighbors and friends. No one knows better than fellow innkeepers the amount of love, work and money that goes into this business. Tom and Terry have operated their bed and breakfast for 27 years. They were the first bed and breakfast in Cape Girardeau. We respect and admire that.
We did not know the pending plans for the Ponder House until we read the aforementioned article on Aug. 18. We couldn't be happier that another Cape Girardeau historic property will be restored and cared for. We wish them great success in their endeavors.
LINDA AND BRIAN LANGLOIS,
Bellevue Bed and Breakfast, Cape Girardeau
