On Saturday afternoon, Southeast Missouri State University will confer degrees to 1,129 students -- 936 undergraduates and 193 graduate students. Twenty-one undergraduate students will cross the platform with a perfect 4.0 grade point average, while many others will graduate with other commendable marks of distinction...

On Saturday afternoon, Southeast Missouri State University will confer degrees to 1,129 students -- 936 undergraduates and 193 graduate students. Twenty-one undergraduate students will cross the platform with a perfect 4.0 grade point average, while many others will graduate with other commendable marks of distinction.

Giving the commencement address will be Dr. Fred Janzow, vice provost and dean of the School of Graduate Studies at Southeast. Dr. Janzow started as a faculty member in the Department of Biology at Southeast in August 1975. Since joining the university's administrative team in 1990, Dr. Janzow has held several administrative positions.

Area high schools will also be holding graduation ceremonies soon. We applaud these students as well as the Southeast graduates, and wish only the best for each as they prepare for the next step in their lives.
