Cape's air show

The Cape Girardeau Regional Air Festival is returning to the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport June 19 and 20, and tickets are available online at www.capeairfestival.com. This year's event is one of the biggest ever, featuring the Navy Blue Angels, the Army Golden Knights parachute team and the Air Force A-10 Warthog East Demonstration Team.

Past air festivals have relied on some 250 volunteers to take tickets, provide security, oversee parking, run the VIP tent and be liaisons for performers. Help also is needed for marketing, accounting and pyrotechnics. Airport manager Bruce Loy says this year's event, with the Blue Angels, will require even more volunteers.
