In addition to a career in education, including several years as chairman of the art department at Southeast Missouri State University, Needle also is a painter, lecturer and goodwill ambassador for the arts. He is known to many Southeast Missourians for his work in the field of Egyptology, which still occupies much of his time.

Congratulations to Bill Needles upon being selected to receive the Dingeldein award -- and for his continued interest in involving the public in the arts.
