It's good to see commercial flights carrying passengers to and from Cape Girardeau again.
Big Sky Airlines, which serves as a connection airline for Delta, began Nov. 18.
Big Sky, unlike the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport's previous airline, flies to Cincinnati instead of St. Louis.
Only time will tell whether there's a market for such flights here.
The local airport gives us access to the world, and it is an important service, especially for Procter & Gamble Co. employees whose company headquarters are in Cincinnati. In keeping rates competitive, Big Sky lowered its round-trip fares to $170 plus taxes and fees, from the $270 fare that was originally announced.
Flights aren't full yet, but we hope to see that improve as word spreads about the new service and the lower fares.
