"One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
"Indivisible?"
You know the words to the Pledge of Allegiance. Despite the efforts of some progressives who seek to remove "under God," it's the word "indivisible" that should be the focus.
Even the casual, nonpolitical observer must recognize that our nation is divided today perhaps more than at any recent point in history. I don't join with the conspiracy crowd who firmly believes that the intended policy of this administration is to divide this nation.
But I do believe this administration is sowing the policy seeds that divide us along economic and racial lines. The intent may not be there but the result is virtually the same.
President Obama said last week that his policies were not designed to create class warfare but rather were based on simple math. Yet there's ample evidence that his math is fuzzy and based on circumstances of his own creation.
By pounding the drums of discontent and blaming the "rich" for not providing their fair share, this administration sets the stage for class warfare based on income. Yet every analysis shows the disparity of taxation is tilted strongly toward the upper income earners paying a hugely disproportionate amount of taxes currently.
And then, when you question the math and point the finger of blame at those who sow these seeds of discontent, out comes the race card. It's almost a no-win proposition.
The ever-present protesters point their ire at Wall Street when the greatest economic concern by far is the lack of adequate jobs. But the media finds a more convenient target with a 30-second film clip of protesters than they do in questioning what policies hamper job production.
And when it comes to the subject of race in this nation, the left somehow interprets the rising success of a black Republican candidate as racist. In our less-than-educated nation, all one needs do is to say the word "racist" to inflame an electorate looking to blame someone else for their personal failures.
If you want to honestly examine who is seeking to divide this great nation, don't look at the GOP. They simply react to policies promoted by this administration. The division stems from a gullible media and a far-left leaning administration.
The left first went after "under God" and now they set a framework to eliminate the element of "indivisible." Just look at the words. "Liberty" is next.
