A new definition for inhumanity

Just reading such a gruesome story was cause for serious reflection:

A nurse's aide in Fort Worth, Texas, ran down a homeless man with her car after a night of drinking and using Ecstasy. The man was rammed headfirst through the car's windshield. The woman drove the car home and parked it in her garage, leaving the man to bleed to death. Periodically, she told police, she went to the garage and apologized to the man but ignored his pleas for help. Police learned of the bizarre incident when the woman was overheard talking about it later -- at a bar.

"Maybe we've just redefined inhumanity here," said the local county prosecutor, who filed murder charges. Yes. Inhumanity far beyond what anyone would expect to read in a newspaper story.
