I flew to Springfield, Mo., last weekend in a chartered jet. It took 38 minutes at about 522 miles per hour. I've been a pilot for over 50 years, but have never had the delight of such an experience.

I was hitching a ride with local author/lawyer David Limbaugh who was provided the jet so he could speak to about 800 people about his new book "The Great Destroyer," which was launched last Monday to the media.

Limbaugh flew to New York on Sunday for a round of media interviews and the quick trip to Springfield was to support his longtime friend Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder at the Republican State Convention, where I got to observe delegate selection.

I've read about half of Limbaugh's book, which is an encyclopedic listing of actions by President Barack Obama. Roughly 1,300 footnotes support Limbaugh's thesis of the destruction and dangers created by many of Obama's actions for the future of this country.

The book is broken down into chapters that permit you to jump around to areas of your greatest interest. Some of the back cover's praise about the book are as follows.

* "In ‘The Great Destroyer,' David Limbaugh shows how Barack Obama has plundered our nation's finances, dismantled our defenses, trampled on our Constitution, and punctured the American dream. A must-read book on the Obama administration's shameless pillaging of America." Sean Hannity, host of Hannity's America

* "‘The Great Destroyer' reads like a terrific political thriller about an administration hellbent on bankrupting its own nation and undermining its national security. The fact that it's a true story about our own country should disturb and alarm every reader." Vince Flynn, No. 1 New York Times best-selling author

* "My friend David Limbaugh has written the best book about the worst president in American history. If anyone reads this book and still votes for Barack Obama, he should have his head examined." Mark Levin, nationally syndicated radio talk show host

* "When the time comes to assess the finest historians of the Obama administration, top honors will likely go to an attorney and writer, David Limbaugh, whose ‘Crimes Against Liberty' set the standard for all future work. Now, Limbaugh is back with a sequel, ‘The Great Destroyer.' No one documents the case against Barack Obama with such organized sledgehammer blows as David Limbaugh. In time, these two volumes will stand as the definitive story of a failed president and his corrupt ideas." Larry Schweikart, co-author of "A Patriot's History of the United States"

Incidentally, Stephen Limbaugh Sr.'s uplifting Memorial Day speech on the signers of the Declaration of Independence can be viewed online. Go to semissourian.com and to videos and scroll down to Fred Lynch's video. This inspirational speech is well worth your time. I've been blessed with having the experience of hearing three generations of Limbaughs give eloquent speeches.
