- Southeast Missouri State University communication students won multiple Missouri Broadcast Education Association awards June 7. First-place winners were: Regina LaRose, convergent journalism; Cody Snider, audio interview; Matt Hickey, corporate/promotional video; Brandon Reese, sports video; Jeremy Abrams, audio air check. Benjamin Theiss, Joanna Wende, Ryan Wedemeier, Casey M. Hinkebein, Michael Olds and Ernie Kon received an honorable mention. Southeast Public Radio won in the "special programming category for its "Almost Yesterday" series.
