SCHOLARSHIPS

• Stephanie Devore of Whitewater and Krystal Burnett of Chaffee, Mo., received the Mary Maud and Norvell Hosea Memorial Scholarship. Both will attend Southeast Missouri State University next school year.
• Ashton Gaskill received the Jean Bell Mosley Memorial Scholarship for Creative Writing from Notre Dame Regional High School.
• Kaitlyn Henley of Kelso, Mo., was awarded a President's Plus Scholarship and Missouri Leadership Award to attend Southeast Missouri State University next school year. Caitlin Burress and Kayla Foster of Jackson have been awarded a MAP Scholarship. Mark Himmelberg of Cape Girardeau has been awarded a Regents' Scholarship.

GRADUATIONS

• Donna Senciboy of Perkins, Mo., graduated with a doctorate of medicine from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. Senciboy, an Oran High School graduate, will begin residency training in obstetrics/gynecology at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Michigan.

Dean's list

• Tyler Sprandel of Jackson made the dean's list this spring at Lambuth University in Jackson, Tenn.
• Angela Laxton and Christy Laxton of Scott City made the dean's list this spring at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo.

HONORS

• Linda Holt received the Director of the Year Award for her work at the Oak Ridge Early Childhood Center.
• Winners of the annual ArtsCape Junior Poster Contest are: Megan Brock of Central High School, A.J. Branson of Cape Christian School, Caleb Oswald of North Elementary and Ethan Laster of Orchard Elementary School.

SCHOOL NEWS

• The Oak Ridge Early Childhood Center added a butterfly house to the center's outdoor classroom science center. Children have already planted four gardens.
