- An Agriculture Educational Field Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 8 at Southeast Missouri State University. The day will be spent discussing agricultural topics at the greenhouse and research center. High school juniors and seniors and community college students can attend by calling 651-2106 or e-mailing igmayhall@semo.edu by Oct. 3. The limit is 200 students and instructors.
- Southeast Missouri State University will hold forums for the public to provide input on the university's strategic plan. Communication will be discussed at noon and 4 p.m. Oct. 1 in the University Center Indian Room. People will be discussed at noon Oct. 8 in Crisp 125 and at 4 p.m. Oct. 8 in the University Center Program Lounge. Infrastructure will be discussed at noon and 4 p.m. Oct. 15 in the University Center Party Room. Funding will be discussed at noon Oct. 22 in Glenn Auditorium and at 4 p.m. Oct. 22 in the University Center Program Lounge.
- Edward "Ned" Walsh will discuss "Cuba: Yesterday —Today — Tomorrow" at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 7 in Sadie's Place in Kent Library at Southeast Missouri State University. Walsh, an alumnus of the university, "has led numerous humanitarian, medical and religious delegations from the United States to Cuba," according to a news release.
