Jackon resident Samuel Lowes of Boy Scout Troop 311 received the rank of Eagle Scout. For his Eagle Scout project Lowes constructed a bulletin board at the Pee-Wah trail in Trail of Tears State Park. Donations were given by Delta Companies Inc., Southeast Missouri Builders Supply, Ross Furniture and Eddie and Brenda Ross, David Sailing Roofing and Mary Lou Lowes.
