RSVP, VIP in Cape, Scott counties soliciting volunteers

The Retired Senior Volunteer Program and Volunteer Intergenerational Center, serving Cape Girardeau and Scott counties, are recruiting volunteers for National Volunteer Week, April 19 to 25. You can:

• Load and move items in storage to the new Lutheran Family and Children's Services location; four people from 9 to 11 a.m. April 24.
• Clean senior citizen cars at a "tech check" at the Jackson Senior Center; 10 people needed from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 18.
• Clean up trash in Cape La Croix Creek and creek banks; 145 people needed from 8 a.m. to noon April 18.
• Sort, price, place merchandise on selling floor; organize and clean warehouse at the Salvation Army Thrift Store in Jackson. Ten people needed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 20 to 25.
