• Jan. 2: PWP will hold a general meeting/orientation at the Cape Girardeau VFW Post 3838, 1049 N. Kingshighway from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Program by Pam Johnson will be about the Southeast Missouri Regional Crime Lab. Free and open to the public.
• Jan 4: Meet at 1 p.m. for all the eligible PWP members' children to eat at CiCi's Pizza, 221 S. Broadview St., Cape Girardeau, (across form Applebee's).
• Jan. 7, 14, 21, 28 from 7 to 9 p.m. PWP will attend line dance lessons at Eagles Aerie No. 3775, 321 N. Spring Ave. in Cape Girardeau. Beginner lessons begin at 6 p.m. Open to the public. There is a cost.
• Jan. 10: PWP will be attending the Southeast Missouri State University Redhawks men's basketball game vs. Eastern Illinois. Meet at 7 p.m. in front of the Show Me Center. Discounts for children ages 2 to 18.
• Jan. 16: PWP board/orientation meeting from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Cape Girardeau VFW Post 3838, 1049 N. Kingshighway. This is a planning meeting, to make suggestions contact a board member.
• Jan. 18: PWP will take all eligible members' children bowling at 2 p.m. at Main Street Lanes, 526 W. Main St. in Jackson.
• Jan. 23: PWP will host a trivia night at the Cape Girardeau VFW Post 3838, 1049 N. Kingshighway from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Free. Prizes for the winning team.
• Jan. 24: PWP will attend the Southeast Missouri University River Campus Art Gallery for the Brian Smith exhibit at 2 p.m. Free admission. A PWP sponsored single's dance at VFW in Cape Girardeau will be from 8 p.m. to midnight. Open to the public. Singles and couples welcome. Discounted price for members.
