SCHOLARSHIPS

• Katie Lakner of Jackson was selected as a Truman Leadership Scholar. Lakner is a graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School and is the daughter of Dennis and Janet Lakner.
• Brent Menz of Delta has been awarded the the Gary and Laurine Roach Scholarship, the Betsy Ross Scholarship and the Niels W. "Doc" Robinson Rodeo Scholarship for the 2007-2008 school year to attend the University of Tennessee at Martin. He is the son of Marty Menz and Jerri Lynn Menz.

ACHIEVEMENTS

• Holly Pritchard of Cape Girardeau earned a placement in the symphony orchestra at Murray State University in Murray, Ky.

AWARDS

• Jackson Senior High School students won the Sweepstakes trophy for earning the most points overall at the Scholastic Press Association Fall Workshop. The Squawler newspaper staff won first place in cover and inside layout. The 2007 Silver Arrow yearbook staff won first place for cover and third place for layout. Junior Casey Seabaugh won first place in current events and senior Cassie Kamp won second place in writing.
