  • Parade of Lights: The 16th annual Cape Girardeau Christmas parade will start at dusk at Capaha Park and travel down Broadway, turn right onto Main Street and finish at the parking lot across from Hutson's Fine Furniture.

  • Handel's "Messiah": The Southeast Missouri Symphony Orchestra, University Choir, and Choral Union team up to present one of the greatest choral works of all time, Handel's "Messiah," in the Bedell Performance Hall on Southeast's River Campus.

  • Santa: Visit Santa in the former Cape Wiggery Shop from 9 a.m. to noon. The Bank of Missouri will take pictures and provide them for pickup at various bank locations.

  • Celebrate Christmas with Mike and Robyn: Share the holiday season with Mike Dumey and Robyn Hosp with an unforgettable evening of music and fun. Tractors Classic American Grill will cater the Showcase at Deerfield Lodge starting at 6:30 p.m. For reservations, call 243-7775.

  • "Great Russian Nutcracker": Moscow Ballet's "Great Russian Nutcracker" at 7:30 p.m. at the Bedell Performance Hall on the River Campus. Call 651-2265.

  • Glenn House holiday tours: A special candlelight tour of the historical 1880 Glenn House at 325 S. Spanish St. The decorated Glenn House will be open from 5 to 7 p.m. with refreshments and music in the carriage house. Group tours can be arranged at any time during the week by calling 335-1631.
  • Breakfast with Santa: Breakfast with Santa at 9 a.m. at the 4-H Exhibit Hall in Arena Park. Registration deadline is Dec. 13. Call 335-5421 or 334-2859.

  • Glenn House holiday tours: Holiday tours at the historical 1880 Glenn House at 325 S. Spanish St. The decorated Glenn House will be open 1 to 4 p.m. every weekend.
  • Christmas on Kent Street: Houses on and around Lexington Avenue are decorated for the season. Again this year, the house at 2206 Kent St. has a light show coordinated with Christmas music on the radio at 88.7 FM.
  • Santa at the Mall: Visit Santa at the West Park Mall from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays.
