Where did the 2013 season go? It seems like it was just yesterday that we were gearing up for "Retro Radio" going back to the day of radio programs and the family gathered around the radio listening to the stories of the Lone Ranger and commercials from long ago. Oh and don't forget the jingles that were sung by those glorious radio singers. What a great way for us to open our season. Then before we knew it, May had arrived and our second production "Rumors" was opening. This show was so fun to watch because of all the crazy situations that occurred and the not so upfront characters in the production. Before we could blink it was July and it was time for "Strawberry Ridge". What a funny but yet sweet story of x-wives that were willing to do anything to keep their x-husband out of trouble with the law. Then before we knew it we were rehearsing for the last show of the season "Nuts, Bolts, & Carnations." This was a three act comedy about love, marriage, families, death and even phone calls from God. Yes, our season is over but not forgotten. We will be recognizing and celebrating this season on January 18 with our annual Abbott Awards.
This function is River City Players own Acadamy Awards. Cast, crew, stage designers, directors, co-directors and all of our volunteers are honored and may take home an Abbott Award. I want to thank everyone that helped make this 2013 season a Great One!
