I am sad today that RCP's large sandwich board sign that has been used for over ten years to advertise our upcoming shows is now a thing of the past. Due to all of the hoopla about posting signs around town in different spots, even Community Theatre is no longer allowed to do so. I feel that this is sad that Cape's own community theatre will no longer be able to present the info needed for the community so they can attend our shows. We also advertise in the SEmissourian, have fliers around town, put the dates on SEMO Events and on iluvlocal places, the CVB calendar of events, this blog of course and word of mouth. We also have a Facebook page and I do tweet. I do hope that our patrons find these ways of advertising to be enough to know when our shows are. Also we do put the show and dates on the marquis at Port Cape. I think that the Board of Directors should have a ceremony for our sturdy, friendly sign that will now sit on the 3rd floor at Port Cape. She has been a kind and dependable friend of ours. Enjoy your retirement. On a lighter note tonight is our opening of "Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean." If you have not made your reservations yet please do so by calling 573-334-0954. Our shows are at Port Cape in the Yacht Club. This is a dinner show. The doors will open at 6:30 with the dinner at 7:00 and the show at 8:00. This is a PG-13 production. I will see you at the theatre!
