THE ABBOTTS HAVE COME AND GONE.....
Last evening was a night on the red carpet for the River City Players annual Abbott Awards. The event was held in the Yacht Club at Port Cape with 55 in attendance. Everyone looked amazing in their finest attire. There was everything from long gowns and tuxedos to short evening dresses and suits. As they entered they were met by a red carpet (25 feet in length) and by the MC (Randy Barnhouse). Randy interviewed each one asking different questions of each. Of course being on the red carpet he did ask everyone who were they wearing and might I say there were some pretty funny answers on that one. The anticipation at these awards are the same as those that we see at the Oscar as we watch on TV. The evening begins with a social hour followed by appetizers and much socializing. At 7:00 P.M. the awards begin. You could hear a pin drop it becomes so quiet so quickly. Our theatre photographer John takes pictures throughout the season and then puts together a DVD for our viewing pleasure to look back on the 2011 season. I might add that this man does an amazing job for RCP. Then it's on to the awards. I am simply going to list the winners:
