Kyle VanPool is taking on the task of Co-directing our last show of this season "First Things First" by Derek Benfield. Kyle has been a member of River City Players since 2004 when he was cast in "Love, Sex, and the IRS", winning an Abbott Award that year for Best Actor in a Leading Role. The following season, he appeared in "Star Spangled Girl" and "Murder at the Howard Johnson's". Although he continued to be as active as possible with the organization, he left the RCP stage after these performances to pursue a BFA in Performing Arts at Southeast Missouri State University. During his studies he was cast in numerous plays and musicals including the inaugural production of "Big River" at the Holland School for Visual and Performing Arts. Upon graduation, Kyle was chosen as an outstanding senior and was given the opportunity to showcase his talents for select casting agents in New York City and completed an internship for the Lucille Lortel Foundation and the Off-Broadway League. He is currently the Administrative Assistant for the Department of Theatre and Dance at his Alma Mater and is very excited to once again be taking on a more involved role with the players. "First Things First" will open on Friday, November 4 and run on the 5,10,11,12. The November 10 date is the show only with the others being dinner shows. For reservations call Port Cape 19 N. Water St. at 573-334-0954. See you at the theatre.
