Second grade teacher Linda Cook at Perryville Elementary School combined lessons about farming and recycling into a fun end-of-year craft project for her students. "We made plastic piggy banks from recycled materials," Cook said. "I planned the activity to go along with our Farm Day field trip to Flickerwood Arena and a lesson on recycling. We used plastic soda bottles as the body of the pig, and newspapers for the paper maché. The students had a lot of fun with the activity, and our 'flying pigs' generated a lot of comments."
