Five students in Mary Richardson's sixth grade communication arts classes read a combined total of 269,927 pages during the first 3 quarters of this school year. The students read books that they documented on signed reading logs and then passed computer tests about those books. The top readers are (front, from left) Rachel Bachmann and Jocelyn Brauns. Back -- Carma Ihler, LeAnne Hahn and Jennifer Lohmann. For first quarter the top readers were Ihler with 3,111 pages, Brauns with 2,823 pages and Bachmann with 2,022 pages. For second quarter, the top readers were Lohmann with 4,127 pages, Hahn with 3,800 and Brauns with 1,949. Third quarter top readers were Lohmann with 4,702 pages, Ihler with 2,765 pages and Bachmann with 1,628. The students were treated to gift certificates by their teacher for their outstanding efforts.
