The Snowbirds fly Canadair CT-114 "Tutors", a standard jet trainer, used by the Canadian Forces (formerly Royal Canadian Air Force RCAF) between the early 1960s and 2000.

The single-engined, two-seat Tutor has a top speed of 486 mph, with a max weight of 11,000 lbs, and a service ceiling of 44,500 ft. The Snowbirds utilize the two tanks external tanks to carry their supply of smoke oil used in their flight demonstration.

The Snowbirds, along several other great performers, will be flying both days of this weekend's Heroes and Legends Air Festival at Cape Girardeau Regional Airport.
