Kamerin Gross of Scott City explored the log at the Missouri Department of Conservation's SEMO Fair pavilion. The MDC's "Critter Log" was made locally just for this year's SEMO Fair as part of the department's "Discover Nature" campaign. The log provides an opportunity to show children and their parents what animals they might find living near logs and trees in their own backyards...

Other exhibits at the fair include a display of photos showing Southeast Missouri children and families enjoying the outdoors and bald eagle programs. The bald eagle programs will be at 7 p.m. on Friday night and on Saturday at 2 and 6 p.m.
