The Delta High School Student Council participates in various volunteer activities during the school year including the Polar Bear Plunge to benefit Special Olympics. This year 28 students and their sponsor raised the minimum of $75 to rise to the challenge of raising money for Missouri Special Olympics. After eight years of plunging, this was the largest group yet and they raised $4,060.41, the council's largest total ever, making Delta the top fundraising school for the fifth year in a row. All of the Delta plungers dressed as minions from the beloved movie "Despicable Me," leading them to victory and the coveted "Golden Plunger Award" for best costumes. All awards aside, the smiles and thanks from the Special Olympics athletes are the Bobcats' "reason for freezing."
