Racers participate in the Coors Light Trail of Tears Triathlon on Sept. 12, in Cape Girardeau County. Participants from a five-state region came to the area for the race, which consists of a 700-meter swim, a 15-mile bike ride and a four mile run through scenic Trail of Tears State Park. One of the region´s longest-running triathlons, the annual event has been held since 1990 through a partnership between the Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department, Kohlfeld Distributing and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
